A loveseat fits comfortably standing on one end. A three-seat sofa of about 84 inches also fits on end under the 8-foot ceiling, but its footprint takes up more than a third of the floor. Sectionals do not fit.

It depends what is going in it. Choose a temperature-regulated unit for electronics, wood furniture, photographs, artwork, documents, leather and musical instruments. A standard unit is fine for tools, plastic bins of household goods and seasonal decorations. Note that our climate-controlled units regulate temperature only, so pack moisture-sensitive items in sealed containers regardless of which unit type you choose.

A 5x10 gives you exactly twice the floor space for considerably less than twice the price, which makes it the better value per square foot. A 5x5 is the better choice only if you are confident your inventory genuinely fits, since paying for space you never use is its own waste.
