Latest update : they agreed to verify on their own that the unit is empty, so I think it's all good, that they won't insist on charging me since I moved out. Hence I updated my review from 1 star to 4 star. 4 star they deserve because the facility is good, the storage space is solid and access is easy. I did not like the bait of free rent and then cheap rent but lack of disclosure for the obviously planned increases. If they had communicated that, I would have been ok with this rate, I think it's sort of the norm for that area. Update : they raised again a couple of months later. I finally was able to move out and sent them a notification of termination 10 days before the deadline. They did not respond until yesterday, and demand that I take a photo of the empty unit. There is no other way they say and until they get a photo, they expect me to keep paying for storage. So now I should drive 9 hours round trip to give them a photo of their storage unit ? I thought I was the customer. I signed up for an offer for 2 months free than $25 per month. Found out once signed up that it did not include the technology fee. So my payments were $40. Now I just received an email with only 30 day notice that my rate will increase to $70. No explanations provided. In other words : we think we got you hooked and we are going to try to bully you into keep this storage here. So this is an abusive and dishonest business practice, I will move out.
